Anyone got any ideas? The room is only small, neutral carpet, white walls and white furniture.
She likes fashion but isn't really a girly girl. Looking for things for her wall, accessories, things like that.

Hi, I'm in the process of decorating a 9 year old girls bedroom. She gave me the theme (outdoors inside) and I'm running with that. It's mainly accessories at the moment because it'll be a while before I can paint or wallpaper. I kept carpet and blinds neutral. She has a day bed. I got a vintagy butterfly duvet set with a matching bedspread. There's a couple of matching cushions. There's also a couple of quirky animal shaped cushions. Lighting is a lamp with a shade made up of loads of roses and a ceiling light that looks sort of like branches (lovely pattern on the ceiling when the lights are on). I painted a pine chest of drawers in a duck egg blue. It's a work in progress but she seems happy and some if the vintage style things will grow with her. I think 9 is tricky age wise. I would keep the main decoration fairly simple and bring in colour and detail with accessories which can be changed as she grows older. Good luck.

I'm doing my 9yr dd room. She has chosen it all, I held my breath as shes a little on the quirky style smile
But we browsed shops and the net together and so far she has one wall pale pink paper with small lilac and pink flowers and the other walls darkish lilac. It looks lovely, she has patchwork quilts and some lovely metal cream butterflies on the wall.
she has seen numerous bits and pieces she is after in dunelm that we may look at once we've moved her in.
oh and shes after pink carpet which I'm looking at this weekend.
She did want real birds in a cage but thats a no!

Forgot to add shewanted a window seat with cushions but room is not like that so is happy with sofa bed for friends to stay over if we can get cushions and throw to go on so she can snuggle and read.
She has plenty ideas if you want!

could you get a cork board and some fabric and make her own notice board? then more of the fabric could be used to make a cushion or 2 or to add a trim to a plain pillowcase or something?

She could then put photos up on the noticeboard of her with her friends etc. if she has handles on her wardrobe or drawers you could use the fabric to make a couple of little shapes like her initial letter, curtain tiebacks, doorstop, bookends....

that way when she decides to turn goth/girly/tomboy/whatever in a few years you only have to change 1 fabric and it will all tie together nicely.

My dd9 did hers last year, it had to be duck egg blue with cream French furniture. So we went with bird wallpaper from laura Ashley and white draws etc. we've then Hung up bird cages and mirrors with ribbon etc.

She is now doing her room at stbxh and wants Tiffany blue chevron wallpaper

if she isn't really girly girly then what about looking at something like beach hut stripes - like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLARKE-and-CLARKE-DECKCHAIR-STRIPE-SAGE-FABRIC-FREE-POSTAGE-/390465146229 (using this as an example because I made some curtains out of it and teamed it with sage green). Lots of versions of it around in fabric shops and numerous shades/colours/width of stripes etc. It could be girlyish colours but not as girly as flowers or hearts, would grow with her, could be combined with other patterns or fabric in same colours.

ok so this is very girly (and pink!) BUT looking at the erm 'thing' on the wall what about getting her a statement mirror or clock to go on the wall? 2.bp.blogspot.com/_-3WBViHssK8/S9i5wzWEWNI/AAAAAAAADc4/5gQ3M1SF7Z8/s1600/fiaroom+1.jpg Mirror would help make the room look bigger too. I have also seen little wall mounted mirrored cupboards, sort of like bathroom vanity cabinets, which can go in a young girl or teenagers room and could store her hair stuff tidily.
